o   Adaptation of bed bugs to alternative hosts

o   Bed bugs and poultry farms

o   Ability of bed bugs to go months without a blood meal

o   High density housing and high turnover

Arthro-Pod EP 54 Bed bugs, holiday travel, and you!

Hello, hello bug lovers! Today's episode of Arthro-Pod features Mike, Jody, and Jonathan discussing the impacts of bed bugs on our lives. Just thinking about the little blood suckers can cause you to start itching and just mentioning them strikes fear in the hearts of many.

The Arthro-Pod gang breaks down just where bed bugs came from (evolutionarily speaking), what they do to our bodies, and where we encounter them.

Since it is the holiday season for many listeners, there is also some discussion on how to keep yourself from picking up bed bugs while traveling to see friends or family.
