Arthro-Pod EP 64: Bees, Brains, and Behavior with Dr. Clare Rittschof

Today's episode features professor of entomology Dr. Clare Rittschof, from the the University of Kentucky. Dr. Rittschof's work focuses on behavior and the neurobiology of insects, particularly honey bees. Tune in as she discusses how experiences and social interactions influence behavioral expression! It's fascinating to find out how "social interactions 'get under the skin' to cause behavioral change" as Dr. Rittschof puts it.

Arthro-Pod EP 60 Autumn Caterpillars on the Move

Howdy, howdy bug lovers! Today the Arthro-Pod gang discuss the numerous caterpillars you can encounter as fall sets in. Some caterpillars overwinter as larvae, hidden in leaf
litter or soil, others pupate first to wait out the cold. We start seeing more
of both kinds, right now, as they leave trees and plants they were feeding on
and search for that perfect comfy spot.
